Do I switch electric companies?
No. In most cases your utility stays the same. Your electric service stays the same too.
What stays the same
Your utility still sends power to your home. You still use the same account for electric service.
You are not changing the wires to your house or replacing your utility company.
Why people get confused
Community solar can involve new billing terms or program credits, and that is where people sometimes think they are switching providers.
The better question is not 'am I switching?' The better question is 'what changes on my bill and what stays the same?'
